I really admire the work you guys put into this, I can tell this is a series that was likely started in someone's teen years which is pretty cool you guys are evolving an old idea and trying to mold it into something great, it's a challenging task most don't dare try. I think you should probably change the name of your series eventually, I assume you guys are aware of the Amazon series. Someone Ik said this is like if there was a show on Newgrounds called "Rick and Morty" but had nothing to do with the Adult Swim show.
I was really impressed with animation here, really strong posing and movements throughout the whole cartoon, think my favorite parts were the house coming to life and when the orange guy got possessed, those scenes were pretty cool.
There are some things I think could use some work, Wasn't really into the voice acting here. I liked that you guys didn't go with an overly cartoony type of voice acting for this project but I think it goes too far in the opposite direction for my taste, the emotions of the characters sound bored or confused although the way the characters move while they speak almost feels contradictory. I think just clear direction of what emotions should be felt by each character will help you in future projects.
Think you guys could have something special here but this particular cartoon leaves me feeling empty by the end because I can say it's a well done cartoon, I still feel I just watched a cartoon influenced by cartoons, it lacks a personal side that reflects the real world in a way that would resonate more with someone like me, I wouldn't claim that this isn't personal to you because it must be for you to stick with it all these years, think the premises need a bit more maturing and some indication of what you might be like outside of the cartoon world.
I like what you got here but would like to see a shift in perspective on how you make cartoons moving forward, don't expect you to agree on everything I'm saying but I hope it's something you at least think about.
While I understand where you are coming from on a significant amount of your points here (and even agree with many of them), I feel it is incorrect to assume that this cartoon isn’t based on observations of reality.
Yeah, I started this as a kid. And it’s hard to rework and incorporate choices I made as a kid into a story I’d like to try to develop as an adult. It’s absolutely a challenge and there are and will continue to be growing pains as we move past the older episodes. It’s like a stain I can’t escape. I’d have made very different choices then if I had the experience and insight I have now.
That being said, this show is produced by myself and my group of friends, whom of which are extremely close. To say this show is exclusively based on other cartoons, or to say it isn’t reflective of us as people, is simply untrue. We create to make each other laugh. Our characters are based on one another and act like one another. We aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel, and we aren’t trying to create a revolutionary piece of art that is going to change the course of human history. It’s a silly little cartoon and that’s all it was intended to be. Tonally speaking, this cartoon is the way it is with intention.
Additionally, as for the title of the show, it was an unfortunate coincidence. However, I am standing by the title I chose as it has relevance to the characters and story we are developing.
what would you do if pokemon was real
Decent for a first episode, I'd first suggest you get voice actors for this instead of the on screen text, it should be easy to find some on voice actor forums on here. Better audio in general is needed here, it sounds like all the music and sounds effects were recorded somewhere else with a phone mic. aside from that I liked the art and I respect how you're trying to do an original thing.
Thank you a ton! Voice acting would definitely help my project out, ill definitely take a look at the voice acting forums on here! :D
Looks nice but you should really put this on the art portal as a gif.
Entirely new to newgrounds ty for the tip! <3
There's some parts of this that look good, but the majority is obviously rushed and looks unfinished. I'd be more forgiving of that if the humor wasn't lazy as well, and overall presentation is just a few notches above chinese youtube videos for toddlers.
You're a lolcow 😏
thanks for the 4 stars
i like ur cartoos
Finish it please.
First, It'll be finished soon, also is there a feature where you could comment with voting. Second, if your an adult, then don't vote for it cuz this animation is only for kids like me when we animate, since adults literally hate every newgrounds stuff that kids make, only vote for it if your an adult that likes it like you, also check my profile. Third, how did you get here if I'm not even popular and your on the front page lol.
At first I thought the dicking around with the reviews was a bit silly at first but then I realized this isn't even a finished movie. Please finish it and the reaction you have in response to zero stars will be more valid.
Thank you--at least you explained your zero star rating instead of the stupidity of most of these reviews. :)
This is awesome but kinda gay so I have to knock a small amount of points.
This is actually the straightest video ever made. Smh critics these days.
